Booking a Hotel in Livigno Can Be a Pleasant Challenge

There are at least two things worth knowing a little about when booking a hotel in Livigno. First of all, you’ll want to know what it is that Livigno has to offer. You probably already do, or you would not likely be booking a hotel there. You may however be booking one because someone told you that the town of Livigno, the ski resort, and the surrounding mountains, are all well worth visiting. While it is indeed a small town, Livigno has become a prime European destination for those who like to ski, who are looking for a place to do a bit of duty-free shopping, or who simply enjoy being in the Alps, summer or winter.

Second, you want to know what a given hotel has to offer. Assuming you have an idea of what the area has to offer, you still want to book a hotel that enables you to best take advantage of those things Livigno has to offer. For example, does a particular hotel give discounts for ski lift passes, rental, or instruction? Does the hotel furnish free bicycles? A number of them do; obviously during the summer season and not in mid-winter. Does the hotel arrange hikes or mountain bike trips, or is the hotel staff more than happy to put you in touch with those who do arrange such trips?

Ask Plenty of Questions

When booking a hotel in Livigno, you’ll either want to arm yourself with facts or with questions. You can’t know everything there is to know about the 150 or so hotels that are located in and around this small town. The chances are good that your booking agent doesn’t have the answers immediately available either, but he or she should at least have the resources available to get answers to your questions.

The main problem you’re likely to face when booking a hotel in Livigno is one of information overload. There are almost too many hotels to choose from. You will probably be better off seeking a good hotel, since there are a number of 3-star and 4-star hotels in the area, than you would be in trying to find the very best hotel, in which case you would probably end up being booked into the most expensive hotel, which wouldn’t necessarily be the very best one, “Very best” is a somewhat subjective term, and often a matter of opinion.

Livigno is Different

Your booking agent may ask you if you want a hotel that is located in the city center, in the outskirts, or somewhat far away from the hustle and bustle. This is a legitimate question if you’re looking for a place to stay in London, Paris, or Rome, or even most medium-sized cities. If you are booking a hotel in Livigno, one on the outskirts would probably be no more than a 5- to 10-minute walk from the center of town. Livigno is not large. If you are booked into one of the hotels in the village of Teola, you will indeed be out of town, but still within a 15-minute walk from Livigno’s city center.

Ask about a finding a hotel that is within walking distance to the nearest ski lift, or finding a hotel where you can ski right up to the front entrance, and you will have narrowed your search from 150 hotels to about 80!

Make a List of the Features You’re Looking For

In short, booking hotels in Livigno Italy can be a problem, but it is a nice problem to be confronted with. The best advice you could have would be to look into features such as spas or wellness facilities, discount ski packages, or for that matter, discount hotel prices. There are apartments (ideal for families or groups) and bed and breakfast facilities (great for coziness) available as well, but you can’t go wrong by staying in one of Livigno hotels.
